This Privacy Statement explains how Abe’s Transportation, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the HoyaLift mobile application (“App,” “HoyaLift”).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you log in to HoyaLift, we collect the credentials or identifiers associated with your account (e.g., Georgetown University NetID), along with contact information such as your name and email address.

1.2 Location Data

HoyaLift collects real-time or approximate device location data when the App is in use (and, if you enable it, when running in the background) to provide shuttle tracking, route mapping, and arrival-time features. You can disable location permissions through your device settings, though this will limit core App functionality.

1.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the App, including routes viewed, features used, timestamps, device type, operating system, and app version.

1.4 Communications

If you contact us for support or feedback, we retain records of that communication.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain shuttle tracking and scheduling features;
• Authenticate your account and verify eligibility to use the Service;
• Improve routes, scheduling accuracy, and App performance;
• Send service alerts, delays, or safety notifications;
• Respond to support requests;
• Monitor for misuse, fraud, or security issues;
• Comply with legal obligations and requests from Georgetown University related to shuttle service administration.

3. How We Share Information

3.1 Georgetown University

Because HoyaLift supports shuttle services operated in connection with Georgetown University, certain account and ridership information may be shared with the University for service administration, safety, and contract-reporting purposes.

3.2 Service Providers

We may share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (e.g., app hosting, mapping/location services, analytics), under obligations to protect your information.

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Abe’s Transportation, Georgetown University, App users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

If Abe’s Transportation is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

3.5 No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain account and location data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with contractual obligations to Georgetown University, and meet legal requirements. Location history may be retained in aggregate or anonymized form for service-improvement purposes.

5. Your Choices

• Location permissions can be adjusted or disabled in your device settings at any time.
• Account information may be updated by contacting us or through in-app settings, where available.
• Account deletion requests can be submitted using the contact information below; note that some information may be retained where required for legal, safety, or administrative purposes tied to University shuttle operations.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

HoyaLift is intended for use by Georgetown University-affiliated riders and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or other reasonable means. The “Effective Date” above reflects the latest revision.
